About

A froggy turn-based RPG adventure with a musical twist. Perform actions to the rhythm of the music, explore a wide variety of unique settings in an animal world, and experience an emotional story of friendship, loss, and love.

Storyline

A Frog’s Tale is a linear, story-driven, turn-based RPG. As Norman the Frog, the player explores a variety of settings, solves puzzles, and battles enemies to advance the story. Levels are designed around vertical exploration and platforming to support Norman’s key ability: jumping. While exploring, the player can also swing Norman’s sword to cut grass, activate switches, stun enemies, and more. During his journey, Norman the Frog meets friends who join his quest and help him along the way. Each party member provides an additional exploration skill that can help solve puzzles and navigate the environment. Party members also contribute during combat through attacks and magic spells. Battles are not random. Instead, coming into contact with an enemy initiates turn-based combat. Battles feature a rhythm-based timing system that requires actions to be performed in time with the beat of the music. Successfully executing enough rhythm attacks fills the RP gauge, allowing the player to combine Norman the Frog’s power with that of a partner character to unleash devastating Dual Techniques. These powerful attacks require even more involved rhythmic inputs. The battle music is dynamic and changes according to the player’s selected actions and their success in performing them.
