The player arrives at Oaklore Keep as it is besieged by an undead army led by Sepulchure, leader of the world's forces of Evil. As Sepulchure advances on Swordhaven, the capital ruled by King Alteon the Good, Drakath, the Champion of Chaos, intervenes and attacks both leaders, corrupting them. Sepulchure taunts that he cannot be killed, but Drakath extracts and shatters his core, destroying him. Sepulchure's daughter screams from his flying fortress as Drakath shoots it down, declares the era of Good and Evil over, and ushers in the Age of Chaos.
