Unnumbered years ago, the supreme god Chaos created the Universe and the world of Aeterna. After populating it with different races and creatures, he appointed powerful rulers to govern them and guide their people. The rulers soon turned against their Creator, seeking to claim the world for themselves. They divided their subjects into two opposing groups, giving rise to war, death, and hatred. Enraged, the all-powerful Chaos cast a terrible curse upon the rebellious leaders. He named them the King of Darkness and the Queen of Light, condemning them to fight each other forever, until the end of time. Not even death could free them from this fate, because Chaos granted them the Gift of Immortality. Even if one defeated the other, the defeated ruler would be reborn and regain their powers, allowing their eternal war to continue.
