This is the latest work by Chiyomaru Shikura, creator of Steins;Gate, developed in collaboration with returning staff from the Science Adventure Series.

The game takes place in 2037. The story begins on February 6, 2036, when a computer-related accident causes machines to go berserk and destroys many major cities around the world. This global disaster becomes known as the "2036 Problem," but a prediction warns that a similar incident will occur in 2038. To prevent it, a group of scientists uses the Gaia Supercomputer to create an "Earth Simulator." Their effort fails because humanity's birth potential has fallen dramatically. The scientists then enter the "Arecibo Message" formula into the Earth Simulator, successfully bringing humanity into another world. They are initially excited, but soon realize that the humans inside the Earth Simulator have created another Earth Simulator themselves. The scientists begin to suspect that they are merely products of an Earth Simulator created by beings that exist above them. The story follows Takaoka Pollon, a hacker with the ability to "Save and Load" as if he were in a video game. Through his Hacking Trigger System, he can intervene in the world line around him.
