Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

Long before this trainee of the dark arts became known as Bayonetta, she embarked on a fateful journey into the forbidden Avalon Forest. Accompanied by Cheshire, her first demon, who possesses Cereza's stuffed toy, play as both Cereza and Cheshire as they search the treacherous forest for the power to save Cereza's mother.

Six hundred years before the witch Bayonetta's later adventures, a young and timid girl named Cereza lives under the strict guidance of her stoic teacher, Morgana. Born from the forbidden union of a Lumen Sage and an Umbra Witch, Cereza bears the consequences of that scandal: her father was banished, while her mother was imprisoned. Desperate to prove herself and free her mother, yet feeling unappreciated despite her intense training, Cereza is lured into the forbidden Avalon Forest by a mysterious boy who appears in her dreams. Deep in the enchanted woods, faeries attack her. In desperation, she performs a demon-summoning ritual that binds an unruly demon to her beloved stuffed cat. Naming the creature Cheshire, Cereza and the demon reluctantly join forces to survive the forest.
