About

Command & Conquer, previously known as Command & Conquer: Generals 2, is a cancelled real-time strategy game in the Command & Conquer series. Developed for Microsoft Windows by the now-closed Victory Games, it was set to use the Frostbite 3 engine and introduce downloadable content to the franchise. The project would have been Victory Games' first Command & Conquer title, making the studio the series' third developer after Westwood Studios and EA Los Angeles. It was planned as an exclusive release for Electronic Arts' Origin distribution service. Originally announced as Command & Conquer: Generals 2, the game was intended as a direct sequel to 2003's Command & Conquer: Generals. In August 2012, it was repurposed as the first entry in a planned series of free-to-play games set in the Command & Conquer universe. Its skirmish multiplayer platform was scheduled to launch free around Christmas 2013, followed by pay-per-play campaign missions in Q1 2014. On October 29, 2013, EA ended development of Command & Conquer and closed Victory Games, citing negative feedback about the economy-based experience.
