Conarium

Conarium is a chilling Lovecraftian adventure game about four scientists attempting to challenge what are normally considered the absolute limits of nature. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's novella At the Mountains of Madness, the story is largely set after the original work. As Frank Gilman, you awaken in a room filled with strange pulsating noises. A peculiar device on a table projects patterns of light that perform a Danse Macabre across the walls. You remember only that you are in Upuaut, an Antarctic base near the South Pole. The base is deserted, something is terribly wrong, and your missing memories leave you vulnerable to a familiar yet alien sense of being part of a peculiar whole. You soon discover that you died after using the device during the expedition, then returned subtly changed, carrying strange memories of strange places. You have lost something important, or gained something sinister. Explore the Antarctic base, dreams, and visions. Study clues and unlock secrets while avoiding macabre beings at all costs.

As Frank Gilman, a member of Miskatonic University's Anthropology Department, you joined Dr. Faust's Upuaut expedition, which sought to transcend the limits of human consciousness using a device called the Conarium. You awaken alone in the Antarctic expedition base with no memory of what happened. You soon discover that you died after using the device during the expedition, only to return subtly changed, haunted by strange memories and visions of unfamiliar places. You have either lost something important or gained something sinister...
