Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot is the first entry in the Crash Bandicoot series and helped establish Naughty Dog’s reputation in the video game industry. The story follows the creation of Crash, a bandicoot uplifted by the mad scientist Doctor Neo Cortex. In this third-person platformer, you progress by traveling through multiple levels in sequence. Most stages are viewed from a camera trailing behind Crash, though some levels shift to forward-scrolling or side-scrolling perspectives. Crash defeats enemies by jumping on them or using a spinning attack that knocks them away.

Dr. Neo Cortex and Dr. Nitrus Brio—two evil doctors bent on world domination—create devices meant to transform innocent creatures into brilliant agents of destruction. They select a bandicoot to lead the pack, but when the devices fail, the animals become crazed monsters. Only Crash Bandicoot survives with his mind intact, realizing that Neo Cortex is the true villain. Seeing Crash as a threat, Cortex banishes him to another island. Crash must fight through islands filled with monsters to stop Cortex from destroying the world and to rescue his girlfriend, who is next on the devices’ list.
