Diablo II

Diablo II is an action role-playing game that continues the series’ dark fantasy and horror tone. You control a new hero tasked with stopping the destruction unleashed by Diablo’s return. Across four acts, you’ll explore and fight through varied locations and encounter a larger cast of characters to play as and interact with. Diablo II became one of the most popular online games of its era, driven by its addictive hack-and-slash gameplay and free access to Battle.net.

Diablo II takes place in Sanctuary after the events of the original Diablo. An unnamed warrior defeated Diablo and tried to contain the Lord of Terror’s essence within his own body. Over time, the hero becomes corrupted by the demon’s spirit, allowing demons to enter the world and spread destruction. Once again, a single mortal must stand in Diablo’s way and prevent the Three Prime Evils from reuniting. If that mortal fails, the world of Sanctuary will become a permanent outpost of the Burning Hells.
