Effulgence RPG

Effulgence is a party-based sci-fi RPG. Explore a distant, possibly extinct world, battle hostile inhabitants, craft gear, and develop your characters. Its graphics are made entirely from text symbols, giving Effulgence a visually unique style.

Sending a video signal is easy when you are only a satellite's distance away. Beyond the solar system, however, sending an ordinary image to Earth can take hours. When a signal arrives from a galaxy one million light-years away, only fragments of symbols reach us. Sometimes, they can be decoded and assembled into an animation made from text characters. This is the story of a strange world. It may no longer exist, since the signal has traveled for a million years. Or perhaps it still exists and is preparing an attack.
