About
Espgaluda is a vertically scrolling manic shooter set in a once-peaceful world. The Shinra Empire begins conquering nearby nations to gradually expand its territory. In the Shinra weapons laboratory, the Espgaluda project creates two successful prototypes, Ageha and Tateha. Fearing for their future, project leader Hiodoshi escapes with the two prototypes to a nearby kingdom. Shinra troops eventually find them, and Hiodoshi is killed in an Imperial Army attack, awakening the power of the Galuda.
Control one of two siblings with distinct abilities: Ageha is faster but has narrower shooting capabilities, while Tateha is slower with a wider attack. Fly through stages filled with mechanical enemies and dense bullet patterns that can nearly cover the screen. In addition to regular shots, both characters have abilities that help them survive the barrage.
Activate the Guard Barrier to become immune to collisions. Releasing the barrier fires a more powerful laser shot, while a meter at the bottom of the screen shows its remaining power. Kakusei Mode changes your character's gender and enables a stronger shot. More importantly, it significantly slows enemies and their bullets while your speed remains unchanged, making difficult bullet patterns easier to navigate. Kakusei Mode rapidly consumes green gems, which are collected by destroying enemies outside the mode. If all gems are depleted, enemy bullets travel faster than usual. While in Kakusei Mode, destroying an enemy turns its bullets into gold ingots that can be collected to greatly increase your score.
Storyline
Espgaluda follows Ageha and Tateha, two children created as living weapons by the expansionist Shinra Empire. After their protector, Hiodoshi, is killed in an Imperial attack, the siblings awaken the power of the Galuda and fight back against Shinra's forces.
