Huang Lee, the spoiled son of a recently murdered Triad boss, flies into Liberty City carrying Yu Jian—a sword his father won in a poker game and chose to keep as an heirloom. Huang intends to deliver it to the family’s new patriarch, his uncle Wu “Kenny” Lee. Soon after landing, assassins kill Huang’s escorts, shoot him, and kidnap him. They steal the sword and, believing Huang is dead, dump his body in the water. Huang survives and tells Kenny that Yu Jian is gone. Kenny admits he planned to present the sword to Hsin Jaoming, the aging Triad boss in Liberty City, to strengthen his claim as a successor. With Yu Jian lost, Kenny is dishonored and weakened, forcing him and Huang to struggle to keep their businesses afloat.
