Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of the Time

Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of Time is a strategy RPG that blends real-time and turn-based combat. Originally released in Japan for PlayStation 2 on December 18, 2003, it is the fourth entry in the Growlanser series and the final installment to use 2D sprites before the series transitioned to 3D in its next game. An enhanced PlayStation Portable port, Growlanser IV: Over Reloaded, released in Japan on August 18, 2011. It added a new animated opening, new story paths, characters, and gameplay improvements. Atlus USA localized the PSP version as Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, releasing it in North America on July 31, 2012. Previously unreleased outside Japan and widely considered the strongest entry in the long-running franchise, this PSP version features visuals remastered for 16:9 widescreen, a greatly expanded script, new characters and quests, numerous additional ending possibilities, and more. It is the only version of Growlanser IV available to North American fans.

Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of Time follows Crevaniel, a young mercenary drawn into a conflict that threatens the peace between rival nations. As war, political conspiracies, and ancient forces reshape the world, Crevaniel gathers allies whose decisions can lead the Growlanser IV story along different paths and toward multiple endings.
