Judgment

Judgment is a third-person action-adventure legal thriller set in the Yakuza world of Kamurocho. You play private detective Takayuki Yagami as he investigates a serial murder case. The game stars Japanese actor Takuya Kimura and features a combat system similar to Yakuza 0, letting players switch fighting styles: Crane Style for taking on groups and Tiger Style for one-on-one fights. It also includes an investigation mode where you search for traces left by the criminal.

A lawyer pulls off a miracle in court—only for the verdict to cost him everything. Now, as a string of murders hangs over the city and the justice system starts to crack, justice can’t afford to be blind. Takayuki Yagami, the son of a murdered lawyer, grows up on the streets of Kamurocho under the care of a yakuza patriarch who sets him on a path toward his real father’s legacy. After joining the Genda Law Office, Yagami takes a high-profile case: prove murder suspect Shinpei Okubo innocent. Against all odds, Yagami succeeds and is celebrated as a hero—but his career collapses just months later. Okubo brutally murders his girlfriend, stabbing her more than ten times with a kitchen knife before setting their apartment on fire. Overnight, Yagami becomes the lawyer who let a killer walk, and everything he built comes crashing down. Three years later, Yagami has traded his attorney’s badge for a small detective agency in Kamurocho’s red-light district, scraping by on odd jobs and evidence collection. But even a city this seedy is rattled by a serial murder case, with victims found and their eyes gouged out. Pulled in by his former law firm, Yagami realizes that to bring the killer into the light, he must chase the truth that slipped through his fingers three years ago. Can a man haunted by failure overcome his past to uncover it?
