The story takes place in an isolated village at the edge of the world. A castle heavily guards the only gate leading outside, and villagers are forbidden from leaving. Most never question this rule and continue happily with their everyday lives. The protagonist is different: he wants to see the world beyond the village. One day, a "Monster" appears, shocking everyone because no one knew such creatures existed. The protagonist fights it using a mysterious red stone he discovered in the coal mines. As he defends the village, he gradually uncovers the secrets behind the stones and the monsters.
