Minecraft Dungeons

Brave the dungeons solo or team up with friends in co-op play for up to four players. Battle through action-packed, treasure-filled, wildly varied levels on an epic quest to save the villagers and defeat the evil Arch-Illager. Discover new weapons and items to help you survive a ruthless swarm of nasty new mobs. Fight or flee through canyons, swamps, and—of course—mines. Any adventurer bold or foolish enough to explore this blocky, beautiful world will need to come prepared, so gear up and head out.

Minecraft Dungeons is set in the same fictional world as Minecraft: the Overworld, a rough 3D realm of blocks and fluids that represent different materials and are inhabited by peaceful and hostile mobs. Unlike Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons features a linear, story-driven campaign with cutscenes. In the opening cutscene, an illager named Archie is cast out by his people. Searching for a place to belong, he is repeatedly turned away because villagers refuse to let him live among them. One day, Archie discovers a powerful artifact called the Orb of Dominance. It grants him magical power but also corrupts him. Now known as the Arch-Illager, he seeks vengeance on those who wronged him, subjugating villages with an army that includes creatures like redstone golems and other illagers. Players take on the role of heroes who set out to defeat the Arch-Illager by freeing oppressed villages, battling monsters, and completing quests. The journey culminates in a showdown at his castle. After the Arch-Illager is defeated, the orb reveals its true form as the final boss: the Heart of Ender. When the Heart of Ender—also known as the Orb of Dominance—is destroyed, Archie is freed from its influence. Instead of punishing him, the heroes show kindness and forgiveness, and they quickly befriend him. As the heroes and Archie leave, the orb is shown rebuilding itself. An Enderman finds it and carries it into the End, and the final cutscene shows an Endersent climbing out of a portal. In-game, defeating Archie also unlocks new difficulty levels that increase the challenge while offering better rewards.
