Mononoke Slashdown

Control Kagemaru the ninja in this 2D side-scrolling action game. Use ninjutsu arts, kunai daggers, and a katana to defeat ghosts and monsters. Collect in-game currency from defeated ghosts to buy powerful weapons, armor, and ninjutsu techniques, power up, and return the city to its people. Every stage also features secret challenges. Can you complete every mission?

A peaceful town once lived in harmony, until an evil power began to awaken beyond the mountain ridges. Mysterious stones first appear in the mountains, then in the fields, and finally in the city. Ghosts emerge from the stones one after another, turning the villagers' peaceful lives into a nightmare. Then, a swordsman's blade flashes through the forest at night. It belongs to Kagemaru, a ninja apprentice. "Why won't the warriors come and help the villagers...?" Kagemaru already knows the answer: the city and its castle have been overrun by ghosts summoned by the evil power. Though still an apprentice, Kagemaru bravely takes up the fight. To save the city and its people, he must face the monsters alone.
