Open Roads

Long-lost family secrets, clues to a hidden fortune, and miles still to travel await Tess Devine and her mother. Although their relationship has never been easy, they set out together on an unforgettable journey into the past.

On a crisp fall day, Tess Devine and her mother, Opal, discover a cache of old notes and letters carefully hidden in their attic. The documents hint at deep-rooted family secrets, decades-old burglaries, and lost treasure somewhere near the Canadian border. What they uncover points to a mystery that may be best left alone. But that is not going to happen. In Open Roads, Tess and Opal set out on a road trip adventure to investigate a series of long-abandoned family properties and uncover their past. They search the ruins of places filled with buried memories, including things Opal has spent years trying to forget. Along the way, they discover not only the truth they have been seeking, but also each other.
