Oriental Blue: Ao no Tengai

Oriental Blue is a role-playing game in the Far East of Eden series, featuring a distinctive magic system and story routes that change based on your in-game choices. You play as either Tenran or Aoi—a teenage boy or girl—on a quest to defeat an ancient evil threatening the prosperous land of Jipang and to prove worthy of the legendary Fire Clan, long-time protectors against demons and warlocks. Jipang closely resembles medieval Japan, and your journey also takes you to Mongolia, China, and other Asian countries. A major new feature is its non-linear storyline: you can tackle many missions in any order, and key battle outcomes can alter the narrative. Even losing to a boss doesn’t end the game; it reveals a branching path instead. Otherwise, gameplay follows the series tradition, with overworld travel and first-person, turn-based combat.
