Oxenfree

Oxenfree is a supernatural adventure game built around rites of passage and senior-year traditions. A group of friends sneak away to Edwards Island, an old military outpost with no phone service, and players step into the role of Alex as she brings her new stepbrother Jonas to an overnight party that goes horribly wrong. Inspired by cult classics like Stand by Me and Poltergeist, Oxenfree draws on the past while focusing on a more modern coming-of-age story. As Night School co-founder Sean Krankel puts it: “It’s a coming of age story where players control how their hero comes of age,” balancing the fond and mortifying sides of late-teen life against a dangerous, ghostly backdrop.

In Oxenfree, teenager Alex takes her new stepbrother Jonas to an overnight party on isolated Edwards Island, a former military outpost with no phone service. When a disturbing incident cracks open the door to supernatural forces, the group is drawn into a tense mystery where dialogue choices shape friendships, fears, and Alex’s coming-of-age journey.
