Retro Game Challenge

Retro Game Challenge is an original game based on the Japanese GAME CENTER CX TV series. Sent back to the 1980s and turned into a young boy, the player is forced to play video games by the evil, self-proclaimed Game Master Arino. To return home, players must defeat him in every retro game challenge he presents, across shooters, racing games, action games, and an epic role-playing game. Gaming magazines provide cheat codes that can warp players to later levels, grant unlimited continues, or make them invincible. A young Arino accompanies the player during each challenge and is amused that he will grow up to become the villain responsible for the player's predicament. Retro Game Challenge recreates the spirit of the 8-bit era through short, rewarding challenges across a wide variety of classic-style games. Shooter, racing, action, and role-playing challenges are woven into the story. In-game magazines include cheat codes and fictional 1980s news stories that pay tribute to gaming history. Retro Game Challenge offers both 1980s nostalgia for experienced players and an introduction to classic 8-bit gameplay for newcomers.
