RuneScape Classic

RuneScape Classic, also known as RSC, RS1, or RS Classic, was the first official release of RuneScape, with DeviousMUD serving as its precursor. It was publicly released on 4 January 2001 and was later replaced on 29 March 2004 by what was then known as RuneScape 2. On 23 May 2018, Jagex announced that RuneScape Classic would permanently close on 6 August 2018 because of numerous unfixable problems with the game.

RuneScape Classic is the original RuneScape online fantasy adventure, where players forge their own path through a shared world of exploration, quests, skills, combat, and trading. Rather than following the fixed story of a single protagonist, its narrative emerges from each player's adventures in the early RuneScape world.
