SCUM aims to evolve the multiplayer open-world survival game with unprecedented levels of character customization, control, and progression, where knowledge and skills are essential weapons for long-term survival. Combining the methodical planning and management of hardcore survival gameplay with optional PvP network events available to everyone at any time, SCUM balances complex simulation with intense action in a next-generation survival game.

Set in a not-too-distant future where entertainment has become bloodthirsty, SCUM follows TEC1, a powerful corporation that turns convicted prisoners into unwilling stars of the world's most brutal survival show. Dropped onto a deadly island, inmates must fight, hunt, craft, and outsmart one another as well as the horrors engineered to keep viewers watching. Every kill, escape, alliance, and betrayal fuels the broadcast, earning fame, sponsors, and a faint hope of survival. On SCUM Island, however, freedom is never guaranteed, death may not be the end, and every desperate choice is part of the show.
