Spec Ops: The Line

This third-person shooter follows three American soldiers led by Capt. Walker, sent to Dubai to recover anyone left from an infantry unit known as the 33rd Battalion. Their mission escalates as they choose to act against militants occupying the city. As they push forward, the logistical and ethical stakes grow more complex, and their view of themselves—and their enemy—comes into question.

The story follows Captain Martin Walker (voiced by Nolan North), sent with an elite Delta Force Bravo team into a post-apocalyptic Dubai. Once a wealthy city filled with high-profile citizens, Dubai is devastated by catastrophic sandstorms that bury much of it. Most people evacuate, but a few remain—including U.S. Army Colonel John Konrad, a founding member of Delta Force, who refuses to leave a training facility and stays with his men to protect civilians who cannot evacuate. After weeks without contact, the Army fears Konrad and his unit have been lost until a faint distress signal is received. Walker and his squad are deployed to infiltrate the city, neutralize outlaws, endure the sandstorms, and uncover what happened to Konrad and his men. The narrative hints that Konrad’s reasons for staying in Dubai against orders may not be entirely genuine.
