About
Speedball is a futuristic football-like sports game played on a steel-walled, steel-floored pitch measuring 160 feet long by 90 feet wide. Two teams compete to score the most goals, with one goal at each end of the pitch. Ball-warp tunnels in the side walls can transport the ball from one tunnel to another.
An automatic launcher releases the ball from the center of the pitch in a random direction. Bounce domes deflect the ball, while players can move freely over them. This version features significantly improved VGA graphics, Sound Blaster audio, and enhanced gameplay.
Storyline
According to the game's story, the first Speedball league was founded in 2095 but collapsed because of violence and corruption. As the organization gave way to anarchy, the sport was forced underground. Five years later, Speedball 2 was created in an attempt to restore public interest. The game begins in 2105 with the arrival of a new team: Brutal Deluxe.
