A 2D platformer and the first Super Mario entry on SNES, Super Mario World follows Mario as he battles Bowser’s underlings and sets out to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser’s clutches. The game introduces a save system, a less linear world map, expanded movement options, and many new items, alongside fresh approaches to level design and art direction.

Storyline

Mario is relaxing on vacation in Dinosaur Land when he learns that Princess Peach Toadstool has been kidnapped by the evil King Koopa Bowser. As he searches for her, Mario discovers a giant egg hatching into a dinosaur named Yoshi. Yoshi explains that Bowser’s underlings have trapped the other dinosaurs inside eggs. The fearless plumber must journey to their castles, free the imprisoned dinosaurs, and ultimately confront King Koopa himself to force him to release the princess.
