LEWIS & CLARK COUNTY, MONTANA, US
Ten years earlier, teenager Nicole and her mother left the family hotel after discovering that Nicole's father, Leonard, was having an affair with Rachel, a girl Nicole's age who became pregnant and eventually died by suicide.
After both of her parents pass away, Nicole returns to the hotel with the family's lawyer to fulfill her mother's final wish: sell the property and make amends with Rachel's relatives. Determined to leave this painful chapter behind, she begins auditing the decaying mountain lodge.
When the weather suddenly worsens, Nicole is stranded with no way to leave. She finds support through one of the first radio telephones ever built, using it to communicate with Irving, a young FEMA agent.
With Irving's help, Nicole investigates a mystery far deeper than anyone in the valley suspected: a story of love and death, where melancholy and nostalgia become a thrilling ghost tale.
