Veredilia: The Sacred Forest

Veredilia: The Sacred Forest is a 2D platformer inspired by classic games such as Sonic and fighting games like Mortal Kombat. More than 50,000 years ago, a dark overlord devised a plan to invade and control Veredilia, the magical forest, and its people. Throughout the millennia, he and his army repeatedly attempted to invade, but the Veredilian Resistance, led by the mighty Caribou King, stopped them through diligence, bravery, and courage. A sacred artefact also kept the Forest united and protected from evil forces. In the present day, the dark overlord and his forces locate the sacred artefact and launch another invasion. The current Caribou King fights them to the death and, as a failsafe, shatters the artefact into multiple pieces, sacrificing his own life to ensure this can never happen again. Now, his two sons, Rein and Toronto the Caribou, must join a young female Kitsune named Vancouver to recover the artefact pieces, defeat the dark overlord and his henchmen, and save Veredilia, the Sacred Forest, from eternal domination.
