Whispers of a Machine is a science-fiction Nordic noir adventure about Vera, a cybernetically augmented detective in a post-AI world. As she investigates a series of murders, she uncovers a dark conflict surrounding forbidden technology.

AI was embedded in every aspect of daily life: cars, homes, clothing, and, for some people, even their bodies. Fearing the Singularity, humanity abruptly shut down AI, triggering a worldwide technological collapse. Generations later, Vera, a federal homicide detective, is sent to the rural outpost of Nordsund to investigate a series of murders. She soon becomes involved in a hidden conflict between technology and religion. Some seek to awaken the Singularity, which they view as the last deity in a godless world, while others are committed technophobes who oppose technology entirely.
