本合辑收录此前在Mega Drive/Genesis上推出的48款Sega游戏（若将《Altered Beast》的两个版本都算上则为49款），并加入来自街机与Sega Master System的平台作品——其中包含该平台上推出的大多数《Sonic the Hedgehog》系列游戏。整体类似于此前在PlayStation 2与PSP上发布的《Sega Genesis Collection》，但在NTSC地区额外包含16款游戏，其中还有可解锁的附加内容。
