BioShock

BioShock is a horror-themed first-person shooter set in a steampunk underwater dystopia. You’re encouraged to turn everything into a weapon—modify your body with Plasmids, hack devices and systems, upgrade weapons, craft new ammo variants, and experiment with different combat techniques. The developers describe it as a spiritual successor to their earlier PC title System Shock 2. BioShock earned high critical praise for its atmospheric audio and visuals, absorbing and original plot, and distinctive gameplay experience.

In 1960, a plane crashes in the Atlantic Ocean, leaving a man named Jack as the sole survivor. He surfaces near what appears to be an entryway to an underwater complex and steps inside. Jack is greeted by slogans celebrating Rapture, a city of free will built in the 1940s by business magnate Andrew Ryan. But before he can fully absorb what he has found, his descent into this promised paradise reveals only ruin and chaos. Determined to understand Rapture’s fate, Jack fights to survive the horrors unleashed by unfettered freedom.
