Elden Ring

Elden Ring is an action RPG developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, released in February 2022. Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki with world-building contributions from novelist George R. R. Martin, it takes place in the vast open world of the Lands Between. You play as the Tarnished, a customizable character who explores the world, battles formidable enemies, and seeks to restore the Elden Ring to become the Elden Lord. Building on the challenging combat known from the Dark Souls series, Elden Ring adds a more open-ended structure with large-scale exploration, dynamic weather, and a day-night cycle. Discover deep lore, complex characters, hidden secrets, dungeons, and powerful boss fights across an interconnected world.

Elden Ring is set in the Lands Between, a fictional realm ruled by several demigods. It was once governed by the immortal Queen Marika, keeper of the Elden Ring—an immense power that embodied the physical concept of order. When Marika shattered the Elden Ring and vanished, her demigod children fought over its fragments in an event known as the Shattering. Each demigod claims a shard called a Great Rune, and its power corrupts them. You play as a Tarnished, one of the exiles of the Lands Between summoned back after the Shattering. Journey across the realm to restore the Elden Ring and claim the title of Elden Lord.
