God of War Ragnarök

God of War: Ragnarök is the ninth main entry in the God of War series and a sequel to 2018’s God of War. Continuing the Norse mythology setting, it takes place in ancient Norway and follows Kratos—the former Greek God of War—and his young son Atreus. As the events of Ragnarök begin, they must travel across the Nine Realms in search of answers while preparing for the prophesied, world-ending battle.

The freezing winds of Fimbulwinter have reached Midgard, making life in the Norse wilds even harsher for Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir. Although the previous journey forged deep trust and understanding between father and son, their relationship remains complicated—especially after the discovery of Atreus’ Giant heritage and the hidden prophecy seen only by Kratos. Atreus is intensely curious and driven to understand who he is, and who he might become. He cannot let go of the mystery of Loki’s role in the coming conflict. Atreus wants to protect his family, but he also refuses to stand by as war threatens to consume the Nine Realms. Kratos, haunted by the consequences of his past, is determined to spare Atreus the brutal lessons he learned in battles with gods. More than anything, he wants his son safe, and their clash with Baldur has only reinforced his belief that further entanglement with the Aesir will lead to tragedy. Together, Kratos and Atreus must choose which path to follow. Whatever they decide will shape the fate of everyone across the Nine Realms as Ragnarök draws near.
