Doom II: Hell on Earth

Doom II: Hell on Earth is a first-person shooter by id Software, released in 1994 as a sequel to the original Doom. The story continues on an Earth invaded by demonic forces, as you fight through the planet to survive. Gameplay retains the series’ fast-paced combat and maze-like levels, with a varied arsenal that introduces the powerful Super Shotgun. Doom II also adds new enemy types such as the Arch-vile and the Mancubus, increasing the challenge. Originally released for MS-DOS, Doom II has since been ported to many platforms and remains a cornerstone of the FPS genre.

Immediately after the events of Doom, you again take the role of the unnamed space marine. After defeating the demon invasion of the Mars moon bases and returning from Hell, Doomguy discovers that Earth has also been overrun by demons—and that billions have been killed. The surviving humans plan to build massive spaceships to carry the remaining population into space. As evacuation preparations begin, the demons seize Earth’s only ground spaceport and erect a flame barrier over it, preventing any ships from launching.
