The Sims is a life simulation game focused on management through constant decision-making. You shape everything from physical home layouts to your Sims’ skills, moods, and mental outlook, staying involved in their daily lives. Activities include buying and placing household and office items, selling and replacing worn furnishings, and building and maintaining the world your Sims live in. You also guide life stages, and the chemistry between Sims is influenced by your choices, shaping how they interact through conversations and relationships. The game features ten career tracks, each with ten levels, and advancement requires specific skills. Your Sims can face emergencies and setbacks such as floods, fires, and robberies. Neglect—starvation, exhaustion, and even failing to meet basic needs like bathroom visits—can derail them entirely. Death is possible, and complete neglect and starvation can wipe out entire families.
